Strange Silver Dime

Hey everyone,

I just got a small bag of silver dimes and found among the mix 2 roosevelt dimes with 4 potruding corners, meaning there are 4 contact points where I guess the coin was attached to a sheet . They are pretty big . does this sound correct????

has anybody seen this before?

is this rare? valuable? worthless other than the silver content I mean?

one thing is for sure, coins are not, never have been, connected to a sheet.

My vote or guess is that it was mounted in a bezel for a pendant.......

Nevertheless, it does not sound like an 'error' coin is only worth the amount of its silver content.

To be sure take it to a coin dealer.

I just noticed that there are also 4 tiny round holes on the back face of the dimes corisponding to the 4 bits. They do not seem to be added metal bits at all, they seems to be part of the original coin, very strange, I will take them to my local coin dealer and ask him about it, I got the coins from him in the first place in a small bag so I dont know if he even knew they were there,

It was cool looking thru the bag cause I found some nice Mercury and Barber dimes too :) yeay treasure

I gotta say too, I love to sound silver coins make in your hands, the differant sizes, halfs, quarters, dimes, they all have that chime to them.:proud:
